Chaos in Time: Chapter 1

The sun shined down of a lush, fertile Green Hill Zone. The ocean was calm, the trees were swaying, and there was not a cloud in sight. Every thing seemed peaceful, except for the blue blur that darted through the area, trying to escape from the pink hedgehog behind him. “SOOONNNIC! Sonic wait up! SONNNIIIIICCC!” The speedy hedgehog didn’t dare to turn around, because he did not want to know how far behind Amy Rose was. ‘Come on Sonic! Run just a little faster!’ The sakura hedgie wished she could keep up a little better to the hedgehog ahead of her. However, the azure hedgehog had found a section where he could go at mach speed and not worry about hitting anything. As he sped off, she slowed down her pace and started panting heavily. Due to her tiredness, she plopped down onto the ground, staring up into the light blue sky. As she lay there, there was a slight breeze, followed by a light thumping of feet. Changing her position so that she now laid on her stomach, the girl hedgehog notice a familiar rabbit and her chao companion coming toward her.
“Hi Amy! How are you?” The light-yellow rabbit said in a high-pitched voice. “Oh, hey Cream, hi Cheese. What are you two doing here?” Amy again changed her position so that she was sitting on the ground. Cream joined her friend in a similar matter. “Well I came to find you! Remember, we were going to have a play-date!” “Oh, right! Sorry I forgot Cream. You see, I went out for my morning run!” The young rabbit tilted her head by the statement and stared at the female hedgie. “I’m sorry if this is rude, but it looked like Mr. Sonic was running away from you.” Amy giggled at the naïve rabbit and said, “Oh he was! You see, to get my work-out in, I chase Sonic, which makes him run away, and if I want to get faster, I can try to keep up with him!” “Oh…I get it! You’re so smart Amy!” Satisfied with the amount of rest she had gotten, Amy stood up and started to stretch out her legs. “Care to join me? Then I promise you, we can hang out.” The rabbit started to flap her ears, which caused her to lift her body into the air. “ Sure thing! Come on Cheese!” The little chao raised his arm up in the air saying “Chao-chao!” Then the three raced off in hopes of catching up to the blur of color.
At this point, Sonic had reached Mystic Ruins. He raced through spinning most of the way, until a bright, cyan light came up on the right side of him. Unfolding from his ball form, the azure hedgehog dug his feet into the ground causing to greatly decrease his speed. Once stopped, he backed up to see what was throwing the light. When the azure hedgehog arrived at the source, he smiled and bent down to pick up the object. In his hand was an emerald, a Chaos Emerald to be exact. “Cool, better drop this off at Tails’ workshop. I think he’s been trying to collect them lately.”
In total, there are 7 of the mystical gemstones. Their colors are cyan, green, navy blue, yellow, white, purple, and red. Combine all 7 and some have the power rivaling the gods themselves. Sonic, himself was one of the select few who could harness their power. After looking at the gem for a moment, the speedy hedgehog darted for the kitsune’s workshop.

Around the same time, another hedgehog, who had a Chaos Emerald in his possession, was currently fighting himself. Shadow the hedgehog was an agent for a government organization called G.U.N. A fellow member, a blonde, human girl named Hope, had been asked by the director of the agency to create a cybernetic clone of the ebony hedgehog. Lately the hedgehog had been slacking in his duties, and Abraham believed the only way for him to see that his progress had slipped was for a clone to be made. Inside the training room, both Shadows charged up a powerful amount of Chaos Energy. At the same time they yelled “Chaos…SPEAR!” At that point, both release their attacks at each other. The clone was hit, but was relatively unaffected. However the original was hit straight on and the force of the wall sent him backwards. Suddenly a beeping noise went off, and the simulation stopped. The battleground converted back to a large white room, and the clone hedgehog faded out. Shadow stood in the room, continuing to catch his breath. Over the intercom, the human girl said, “So… you still think you don’t need to train?” The ebony male, without bothering to respond, left the room. Descending from the control room of the training hall, Hope caught up with the hedgehog filled with angst.
“You looked pretty good in there, considering you haven’t trained in over 4 months.” The hedgehog slightly picked up the pace down the long metal hallway. “Hmph, I’ve could have beaten it.” “ Oh reeaaly now. That was try number, 6 I believe? If you could have destroyed him, you would have already done it, am I right, or am I right?” Done with this conversation, the hedgehog pulled out the green emerald he had found a month ago and said “Chaos-” and disappeared in a bright green light. The girl sighed and returned to her airplane hanger. She still had more work to do, and still had to come up with a name for it.
“Control.” The ebony creature had teleported to a nearby cliff over looking Central City. Only he and Hope knew of this place, but he was quite certain she would leave him alone, for now anyway. Shadow sat on the ledge and admired the emerald in his left hand. It had been quite sometime since Dr. Eggman’s last attack, and he knew well that the doctor was most likely scheming right at this very moment. But being completely honest with himself, he didn’t care in the slightest. ‘Whatever the Doctor comes up with, we will stop without doubt. He has been losing his touch. His past schemes just seem to be getting sloppier and sloppier. Why should I bother to train if we will just stop him in less than a day anyway?’ A slight shift in the wind direction brought Shadow out of his deep thought, but he was not prepared to go back yet. So he lay down, and closed his eyes. He lay there without a thought crossing his mind as he let the sun slightly surround his body with its own heat.

Walking down the road was a telekinetic, ivory hedgehog. He was tossing a white Chaos Emerald up and down while whistling his favorite song. As he approached the house of a young rabbit and her mother, a voice called out to him. “Hi Silver!” The voice had startled the hedgehog so much that he almost dropped the emerald, but before it hit the ground it became surrounded by a neon-turquoise aura that stopped the gem from falling. The ivory hedgehog lifted his arm up, which in turn lifted the emerald, and he swiped it from the air with his other arm.
“Jeez Amy, you scared me! Oh, hi Cream, how are you guys?” The two walking towards Silver were none other than Amy Rose and Cream. “Oh! Sorry Silver didn’t mean to scare you! I was just walking Cream home. Do you want to hang out with us?” Silver liked the two of them just fine, but he did have someone he wanted to go and see. “Uhhh….I don’t think I-” “Oh pretty please Mr. Silver?” “Chao-Chao-Chao!” The ivory hedgehog started to slowly back away from the pair. “Well, you see I…Hey! Whose that over there?” Silver pointed behind the two girls, which caused them to turn around. “Who? I don’t see anyone Silver.” Amy turned back around to notice that the male hedgehog had snuck away while their backs were turned.

While all of this was going on, inside his evil base, a middle-age, robust, man with a large ginger mustache was laughing triumphantly over his new invention. “With this I can travel back in time and make that blasted hedgehog no longer exist! And all it needed was four measly Chaos Emeralds! Now to pick a time.” The man walked to his massive machine. He flipped a switch, which revealed a screen. “Now then, hmmmm… so many choices. I know! How about here?” After typing in the date, the screen flashed the battle in Station Square in which Sonic had first fought Shadow. “If G.U.N. had never interrupted the fight, Shadow clearly would have won. So if I stop them, then Shadow will kill Sonic, and all my problems will be over!” As he laughed, he started up the machine. It groaned and hissed to life, and caused the emeralds to shine brightly. Suddenly, the room was engulfed in a bright light. After the light had engulfed the room, it spread out to beyond the base. The light spread farther and farther catching all in its path. Soon the whole world was engulfed. And as quickly as it came, it left just as fast.




Chapter 1 peoples! Get excited!
This will be a VERY long story, just guessing by my ideas, but hey, why not!
